NRL Round Eight: The Winners and Losers

Manly: Incredible Golden Point win in Canberra, coming from 12-2 down.
Brisbane: A strong first half – and Anthony Milford’s field goal – was enough to beat Souths.
Parramatta: Two wins in a row after a dominant performance over Penrith, are now on the edge of the eight.
North Qld: A Kalyn Ponga double was enough to overcome Newcastle.
Gold Coast: Snapped a four-game losing streak with a comeback win against Cronulla.
Wests Tigers: Back on the winners list after a nightmare week.
Sydney Roosters: Pearce kicks the Roosters to a tight Golden Point win.
Melbourne: Took the outright premiership lead with the win over the Warriors.
Canberra: Another close Golden Point loss after the game looked won.
Souths: Turned a 10-point halftime deficit into a six-point lead with 20 minutes left, but Brisbane still found a way to win.
Penrith: With just two wins and on a four-game losing streak, Penrith look closer to a bottom four finish than a top eight finish.
Newcastle: Led 12- 10 at halftime, but North Qld were too good at home.
Cronulla: Still in the top four despite the loss to the Gold Coast.
Canterbury: Fallen from the top eight after losing to Wests Tigers.
St. George-Illawarra: Five-game winning streak broken in tight loss to Roosters.
NZ Warriors: Fourth straight loss away from home in 2017, this time in Melbourne.
