Josh Hazlewood and Kane Williamson dominated the abandoned Champions Trophy opener between Australia and New Zealand at Edgbaston.
Chasing 291, Australia was 3/53 after nine overs before rain forced the sides to split the points (one point each) as the minimum 20 overs in the second innings wasn’t reached.
Williamson scored 100 off 97 balls, sharing a 77-run second wicket stand with Luke Ronchi (65 off 43) and 99 for the third wicket with Ross Taylor (46 off 58).
Hazlewood took 6/52 from nine overs as New Zealand lost 7/37 in the last five overs, dismissed for 291.
Australia play Bangladesh on June 5th at the Oval.
