Although the sun is out this winter, training is still ongoing with Vic Beach to get ready for the next season of hot volleyball action!
VicBeach was born out of a passion to expand our brilliant sport and deliver events and activities on behalf of the broader beach volleyball community.
Originally begun by beach legends, Peter “Chico” Jones and Greg Jury, then joined by Tony Hampton, VicBeach has been very successful with its charter resulting in continued growth and awareness over many years.
VicBeach is currently run by Allister “Big Al” Lyne. Big Al has been playing volleyball for the past 20 years and he started as an indoor player until he discovered the joys that beach volleyball can bring.
Big Al has played all around this country as well as representing Australia throughout the rest of the world. He has a lot of experience as a tournament director and has run world class events such as the World Police and Fire Games, the Australian Uni Games and the Australian Masters Games (twice). He is also the current Tournament Director of the Victorian State Beach Volleyball Series. Al has been coaching both indoor and beach for the past 17 years and is able to relate to both children and adults effectively.
