NRL Round 19: The Winners and Losers

Penrith = Nathan Cleary’s three tries and five goals sparked an important win in Auckland.
Canberra = Aidan Sezer’s clutch 40/20 breaks a four-game losing streak. Finally won a Golden Point game.
Brisbane = two tries in last 10 minutes was enough to beat Newcastle.
Gold Coast = took advantage of horrible conditions for their fourth home win.
Manly = Wests Tigers made them work for it, but Manly did enough to vault to third.
North Qld = three straight wins after beating Souths in Cairns.

NZ Warriors = led 22-18 after 55 minutes, lost 34-22. Sums up their season.
St. George-Illawarra = unlucky loss in Canberra, leading 12-6 early in the second half.
Newcastle = brave as always – getting within two points in the second half – but still not good enough.
Cronulla = apparently these Sharks aren’t very good in the wet, conceding 30 points in 67 minutes.
Wests Tigers = led by eight early in the second half, Manly dominated from there.
Souths = finals hopes all but gone.
