4 STARS: A fundraising effort for a local hospital, nonetheless by posing nude for a calendar, proves to be a worldwide hit.

What a bunch of extraordinary ladies! They were able to persuade each another to pose all natural for a charity calendar, who would have thought that the idea would become a global sensation! This heartwarming, comedic tale tells the true story of friendship, hope and determination. Adapted by Tim Firth from his smash hit film of the same name, Calendar Girls is based on an inspiring true story that is both poignant and hilarious!

Synopsis: Calendar Girls is about the women of the Rylstone Women’s Institute in North Yorkshire. This Women’s Group produces a calendar each year based around scenes of the Yorkshire dales. In 1999, one of the ladies husbands became ill with leukemia. Unfortunately, he didn’t pull through and in order to raise funds for Leukemia research the women decided to make an alternative calendar of themselves in the nude hoping to sell a few hundred copies around their villages. As interest in their calendar grew, the Calendar Girls find themselves revealing more than they’d bargained for.
