Stars win second Melbourne derby

The Melbourne Stars won their first BBL07 game, beating the Melbourne Renegades by 23 runs at Etihad Stadium.

Kevin Pietersen scored 74 off 46 balls as the Stars scored 4/167. He was supported by Peter Handscomb (41 off 37) and Glenn Maxwell (31 not out off 16). Pietersen and Handscomb compiled 110 for the second wicket. Mohammed Nabi took 2/15.

Jackson Coleman (3/27), Daniel Worrall (2/25) and John Hastings (2/28) restricted to Renegades to 9/144 (Dwayne Bravo 26 off 18, Nabi 23 off 17, Jack Wildermuth 23 off 11).
